gINT TRAINING COURSE - MELBOURNE
Datgel will be conducting a three day gINT (Version 8.2) training course in Melbourne on the following dates:
Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st April 2010
The training course covers topics for beginners to advanced users and is conducted over three days.
The course is designed so that all levels of gINT users will gain valuable gINT skills and learn to
use some of gINT's many features.
Daily Course Content (see below for syllabus)
- Day One: Fundamentals of gINT
- Day Two: Developing Your gINT Environment
- Day Three: Supercharging gINT
You have a choice of attending Day 1 AU$825, Days 1 and 2 AU$1375, or Days 1, 2,
and 3 AU$1815 (Inc. GST).
The training fee includes an extensive training manual, computer access, and daily refreshments
(includes lunch). The course is presented by an experienced gINT Software trainer, and each
participant will receive a certificate at the duration of the course.

The workshops begins at 9:00 am and continues until 5:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Lunch

Day One: Fundamentals of gINT
Day One of the training will focus on basic applications within gINT. If you are just learning the
program, or if you only need to do data entry and graphics generation, this is the day that you
should attend. The instructor will take the class through data entry and output, creating composite
symbols, and the utilities applications, including merging databases and libraries. For more
experienced users, this day explores the power of filters, scripts and import/export.
Topics: Overview of gINT, application groups, data entry, data output, symbols, utilities.
Day Two: Developing your gINT Environment
Day Two of the training will focus on developing a gINT database and building report templates. Topics
include adding tables and fields, defensive database design, library tables, writing expressions, using
the gINT drawing editor, creating and modifying log and fence forms, and working with site maps.
Topics: Data design, relationships, hierarchies, tables, fields, defensive design, library tables,
reports, blocks, expressions, fence, graph.
Day Three: Supercharging gINT
Day Three is designed to turn those who are familiar with gINT into gINT Power Users. You will learn
how to build "Smart Forms" and take advantage of powerful tools such as gINT Rules. We will also show
you how to break your borehole description information up into useful components descriptions. The course
will also discuss importing your data into modelling programs such as Surfer® and RockWorks™.
Topics: Modelling, contouring smart reports, component descriptions, gINT rules, foundation code, calculations,
data checking, security and using Google Earth with gINT.
